The Beginning

I suppose I should start from the beginning.... I was born and raised in a small town called McCammon, Idaho. Hmmm.... you've never heard of it you say? Well, that doesn't surprise me in the least bit. The population of my hometown was a little over 800. My high school consisted of about 7 different cities that were spread apart by about 45 miles. My graduating class was around 56. So like I said, it doesn't surprise me at all that you have not heard of it. Geographically, it is located 2 1/2 hours North of Salt Lake City, Utah.
I was raised on a ranch around cows, horses, dogs, cats, and a few other animals. I LOVE where I was raised and would not have it any other way. When I was younger I was definately daddy's little "Buddy" as he called me. I would spend every day outside helping him with the cows, watching him train horses or just playing with the stray cats that were running around the ranch. I was a tomboy and loved being outdoors. My favorite place to be was in the mountains gathering cows with my dad. I remember just trailing along on my horse behind my dad and looking at the beautiful colors of nature. I was at such peace with nature and so content in thought.

While in High School I did 4-H for one year, which I won first prize in bareback. Suprisingly 4-H and rodeo were not my thing. I didn't enjoy the competition as much as I just liked the nature walks.

I also played volleyball in High School. I wasn't the best player but I wouldn't say I was the worst either. =)
So, after High School I went through my rebellious stage in life and wasn't doing the things that I knew I should be. I wasn't going in the direction that my parents had taught me. I had ideas of what I wanted to do and ways of getting out of my small town but hadn't put anything into action. My ex-boyfriend Kevin had invited me to come to a meeting with his Air Force recruiter so I went.... and sat.... and listened. To my amazement, I actually started thinking about the military. I pondered it for a few days and finally went to my mom and asked her what she thought about me joining the Air Force. She looked at me and said " You know, I think that would be a GREAT idea." This comment shocked the hell out of me! I thought for sure she was going to try to talk me out of it! Shortly after I entered into the Delayed Enlistment Program (DEP), one of many acronyms to come by the way =) I left for Air Force basic training on the 17th of December and that, my friends, was the start of an amazing journey!!
